April 22nd, Earth Day. We and our eTwinner partners from E.B. Devesinha and the 1st B, 2nd C classes of our school, we were gathered to celebrate the day of our planet. We feel especially happy, as we opened a photographic exhibition, with beautiful photos, photographed by us and our partners together with our families, so that everyone is more aware of the beauty of Nature and that everyone can focus on the need to take good care of the Environment of which we are all part! The exhibition was attended by Mr. Mayor, President and Vice-President of the Provisional Administrative Commission of the Caldas de Vizela School Group, the Presidents of the Parish Councils, representatives of various Institutions, Associations of Parents and Guardians. Social Sustainability refers to a set of actions that aim to improve the population's quality of life. These actions should reduce social inequalities, expand rights and guarantee access to services (mainly education and health), with a view to promoting equity in full access to citizenship. Reflecting on this subject, we conclude that taking an active part in the development of eTwinning projects is an asset for the exercise of an integrative and enlightened citizenship, through collaborative work that expands the horizons of knowledge and learning. We have been researching information and debating ideas about the fires and about measures for economic and environmental sustainability, within the scope of forests. We know that the sustainable use of forest products helps us move towards an economy based on renewable, reusable and recyclable materials. Wood can be used for a variety of purposes, with lower environmental impacts than many other materials. It is extremely important to manage and care for forests in a sustainable way, so that materials and products of forest origin can be the basis of a more sustainable economic model, as well as consumption choices that promote the reduction of the global ecological footprint. After sharing our knowledge with our parents, at home, with the collaboration of family members, each of us built a tree with waste material, thus saving natural resources. Later, with all the trees, we built a forest without pollution. We believe in a sustainable forest, we believe in a forest that creates jobs...
