The week we celebrated Europe Day and eTwinning Day we had an online meeting with our eTwinners partners from Turkey and our Portuguese friends. Our Turkish partners gave us a dance. We really like it!

Today, the 9th of May, is Europe Day and it's eTwinning Day. To celebrate this date, Portuguese eTwinners groups got together and presented their research work. Each class researched a country involved in the eTwinning project “Little Green Hands”. All partners got to know a little about Portugal, Turkey, Estonia and Poland. The European country that was chosen for us was Turkey. We love to know more about this country in detail. "Europe Day" and "eTwinning Day"
"Europe Day" is celebrated annually on May 9, with the aim of marking the union of the European continent. The date marks the anniversary of the «Schuman Declaration» (1950), which set out the vision of a new form of cooperation between European countries. On the 9th of May 2022, the celebrations of "Europe Day" join the "eTwinning Day", with the aim of promoting reflection, the debate of ideas, stimulating innovative and inclusive pedagogical practices, promoting the development of of digital skills and collaborative work between different countries, as well as changing habits towards Planet Earth, so that social, economic and environmental sustainability is a reality. It is with the aim of “strengthening ties” between the partner countries of the «Little Green Hands» project, that we share, via ZOOM, the work carried out by the different groups in the research and discoveries they made about the countries involved: Portugal, Turkey, Poland and Estonia....
Footwear Industry and Circular Economy
The «Little Green Hands» project aims to promote a change in habits, raising awareness of social, economic and environmental sustainability, not only at school, but involving families and the community in general, through partnership with local institutions and with publicity. of events on the local radio and newspaper. In this locality, the footwear industry assumes great relevance locally, nationally and worldwide. That's why, this time, through the mother of a student in the class, who is a designer at the company «SAVANA», it was possible to get to know the dynamics of the circular economy. Students had the opportunity to see and touch diverse footwear, made with different recycled materials: apple and rice peels, recycled shirts and bottles, recycled tennis balls, among others.
